AL 0 NL 8 July 10, 2012

Here is my very brief take on the Major League All-Star game last night.  The American League got drubbed for the third year in a row.  Ron Washington is now 0-2 in All-Star games.  The Rangers who participated in the game failed to contribute significantly, other than Joe Nathan who pitched an excellent scoreless inning.  Matt Harrison was lit up for 3 runs in one inning.  And, the American League will not have home-field advantage in the World Series again.  That does not speak well for the Rangers if they were to make the Series a third year in a row.  Also, the experts over at ESPN were made to look like fools by the players from the Giants who ended up contributing huge after a week of ESPN commentators saying they didn’t deserve to be there.  That includes Matt Cain, who according to the ESPN didn’t deserve to be the starting pitcher for the National League and Pablo Sandoval who had the game’s first bases-clearing triple in the 1st inning.  In their defense though, at least Jayson Stark admitted their foolishness.

  1. Dale says:

Agreed. Though I think Ryan Braun should have been the game MVP, despite all of the offseason “unpleasantness.”
