We went to the game last night. It was a great time. We sat in the second row of section 8 in left field, right behind David Murphy. Yu pitched an excellent game, the offense finally exploded in the 8th inning, and our daughter got to yell at Murphy all evening. The only thing that would have made it better was if the Rangers actually sold a Murphy t-shirt in a size 4-T. Apparently they think children only come in one size (all the tot-sized tees were 2-T, there wasn’t a 3-T or 4-T in the entire ballpark) and Murphy fans are all over the age of 3 (the only Murphy shirts were in regular kids sizes S-XL).
But, I was able to get something for my Ranger memorabilia collection that I will post about later.
Also, I would like to make a recommendation on ballpark cuisine. I found a booth with what is called a “BBQ Sundae.” It was pricey at $12, but it was very good. It’s a BBQ sausage, split in half like a banana split. Inside the split was a scoop of mac-and-cheese, a scoop of BBQ beef brisket, and a scoop of mashed potatoes. It was one of the best things I’ve eaten at a ballpark. Next time you go, you should try it out.
Rangers won, we saw fireworks afterwards, stayed in a hotel next to the ballpark and got to ride the free trolley to and from the game. Worked out great!
