Mitch Moreland Leaves Game with Tight Hamstring

Mitch left tonight’s game with a tight hamstring after belting what should have been a triple down the right field line.  In the postgame interview he said it’s not like the one last year that sat him down for some considerable time.  On the other hand, he did say that they are sending him back to Texas tomorrow for an MRI and hopes he can be back in Boston tomorrow night.

If Moreland takes some time off, I’m guessing that they will let Jeff Baker play first base.  Baker’s been great in his limited playing time, hitting around .340 with 6 homeruns.  However, Mitch has been hitting very well and it would be tough to lose him for an extended period of time.  Not to mention, the toll that might put on Mitch himself.
